Once upon a time, a woodcutter and his daughter lived in a small village bordering the forest. She had traveled with him and had seen him speak with the forest animals. The Fox in the Forest is a trick-taking game for 2 players. Utilize the special abilities on the Fairy Tale characters to change the trump suit, lead even after you lose a trick, and more. The beautiful illustrations of the unique characters will help you quickly analyze your options. Score points by winning more tricks than your opponent, but don't get greedy! Win too many tricks, and you will fall like the villain in so many fairy tales.

Fun trick-taking game submitted by russelan on June 22, 2022, 6:58pm This is a fun trick-taking game. Some cards have special powers that make the game more exciting.

Okay game submitted by choichr on June 23, 2022, 3:16pm This game is nice option for those times when only two people want to play. If you are a larger group, you will have to choose a different game. The game itself is pretty simple and easy to learn. I enjoyed the artwork on the cards. An interesting aspect of this game is that the person with the most points won't necessarily be the winner.

Surprisingly satisfying submitted by FordAlpha on August 23, 2022, 9:59pm How could a two-player trick-taking game possibly work, I wondered? Well, this one does. The mechanics are clever and the illustrations beautiful (although the theme/story makes no sense; just ignore it). My games-loving 8-year-old particularly enjoyed this one.

A cute switch-up to Euchre submitted by timbresson on June 15, 2023, 10:02am If you enjoy the sort of strategy of Euchre but want to add a bit of whimsy, this is your game! It has a bit more depth than a standard trick taking game as half the cards played have actions associated with them. It makes for a gentle competitive evening with a significant other or friend - take it to a coffee shop or bar or in your own living room for a quick round or two (or five)

Great two-player game submitted by emjane on June 19, 2023, 5:33pm This trick-taking game appealed to the Michigander in me and is much more engaging of any of the two-player Euchre variations my high school friends and I tried to develop. Many of the beautifully designed cards have additional rules, changing the cards in your hand or limiting your opponent’s play choices, giving the game a more complex feel and increased variation from its more straightforward trick-taking cousins. This game travels well and plays quickly.
