COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Not Worth the Hype submitted by carcat15 on June 24, 2022, 11:12am This was a good coming of age movie, but I was somewhat disappointed by it after hearing from other people that it is one of their favorite movies.

A Great Sort of follow up to Boogie Nights submitted by jibkidder on July 3, 2022, 11:55am PTA returns to the zone of his youth for a light, humorous coming of age dramedy with, shockingly, an amazing comedic performance for Bradley Cooper. Imagine it as a double feature with Almost Famous.

Best movie of 2021 submitted by sumsaylor on July 17, 2022, 12:43pm If you can get around the title, the kind of gross invocation of a pizza made of licorice, then you have a wonderful experience on your hands: touching, funny, heartfelt with standout performances from Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman. A little light on plot, be warned, it's more a collection of vignettes that build upon each other, a sort of meditation on first love. Hollywood in the 70s is evoked with care and attention, wonderful costuming, wonderful humor. Great chemistry between the two main leads. A quirky, delightful movie that holds up after many a re-watching.

Pointless submitted by glazewsk on August 8, 2022, 3:14pm This movie was horrible and a waste of time to watch. So many other good friends-to-lovers movies to choose from, like When Harry Met Sally, or the one with Rom Hanks and Meg Ryan, You’ve Got Mail.

Funny but Strange submitted by bll1010 on August 19, 2022, 10:43pm This movie was really unusual. I liked the time period and setting very much. I liked the main characters, although some of the sub plot points were really odd, like a young kid starting a waterbed sales business. Some parts were really engaging and some parts were strange or slow, which made the movie feel a bit disjointed, but it was mostly enjoyable for me.
