Michigan artist. Walt Griggs studied art at Washtenaw Community College, and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Michigan. Nicely muted colors, considering the subject! submitted by lisa on July 12, 2022, 2:36pm Clearly this artist is thoughtful about how much poppin' bright saturation to go for---check out his other work in the catalog.

The local interest factor comes into play here, I'm sure. But what may be a representation of the haze of summer heat (we all know that Art Fair factor) ends up adding a kind of distance between the viewer and the crowd. And I like that. We're very much outside the scene and looking at it, as I feel this work, not in there among the crowd.
