Watch it for the journey submitted by valjean on June 11, 2022, 4:14pm Especially if you've read the book before, and you presumably know who the murderer is (and how they did it), but either way, you will want to watch this movie to enjoy Kenneth Branagh's Poirot antics. Watching him deal with the events of the movie, his quirks, his accusations and interrogations are all very enjoyable.
I personally found it very enjoyable visually, especially considering how good-looking the cast is. However, the green screen style of the sets and backgrounds sometimes hits really well, but a lot of the time it has a bit of an 'uncanny valley' effect and can detract from the film.
If you haven't read the book, the murder itself and surrounding crimes aren't particularly special or mysterious in the modern day of storytelling, so don't go into it just to try and solve a mystery. Go into it to see a big cinematic fun experience.
