Mystery set in 1920s India with a brilliant female detective submitted by vickik on June 12, 2023, 10:45am This is the first in a mystery series set in Bangalore, India, in the 1920s, featuring Kaveri Murthy, an independent-minded young woman with a passion for mathematics and crime-solving. Recently married to a doctor, Kaveri attends a party with her husband's colleagues. The party soon becomes a crime scene, and Kaveri and her husband must find the killer before the wrong person is executed for the murder.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! submitted by bollocks on August 10, 2023, 10:38am What a delightful mystery! The scene is Bangalore in the 1920s and so there is history and local color. The plot moves at a suspenseful clip and the characters are so well drawn. There is more than a touch of feminism and concern for social justice , too. The last few lines of the story indicate this is the beginning of a series. I'm on board!
