Luca submitted by SBNB on June 10, 2022, 8:09pm My kids (5 and 8) and I love this movie! It's fun and funny with no songs.

Such a cute movie! submitted by rea2mill on June 19, 2022, 9:33pm I loved this movie! For whatever reason my kids (3 & 5) didn’t. This is another great example of Disney and Pixar moving towards stories where heroes grapple with real problems instead of monsters. Luca is torn between curiosity and a true passion for learning which brings him to explore places his parents view as very dangerous. Sounds like every kid right? Except he’s a sea monster who can turn into a human on land. He befriends Alberto, an orphan sea monster who has been living on land and knows “everything” about humans, which draws Luca’s curiosity to him. The two decide they want to visit the human town which is where the real trouble starts.
As Sea monsters Luca and Alberto are dealing with some real worries about fitting in which helps them befriend the town misfit Julia. The trio take on the town bully, the local triathlon, and some more difficult emotional struggles of sharing friends or feelings left out. Totally a movie worth checking out.

Fun for all submitted by Abbie D. on July 10, 2022, 6:57pm Pixar movies have been hit or miss lately and I'd say this one is a hit!! It's very fun and fast paced with plenty of lovable characters.

adorable movie submitted by zaraz on August 2, 2022, 2:41pm literally one of the cutest movies I've seen recently! absolutely love the story and characters. great for kids and adults alike!

Hilarious for everyone submitted by Bethybeth07 on August 10, 2022, 9:53pm A hilarious movie, jokes that both kids and adults enjoy

A sweet, shy film submitted by FordAlpha on July 21, 2023, 11:25pm about a sweet, shy mer-kid enjoying an exciting new friendship. It's well crafted, as Pixar movies are, and tackles family and friendship with more nuance than typical kids' flicks, as Pixar movies do. Overall, though, it's not very memorable; the sea monsters' secret doesn't feel particularly fresh or unique. I found the town bully character very off-putting and cringey (in a way that goes beyond the fact that yes, he's the town bully and villain of the piece), and parts of the plot, especially toward the end, seemed contrived. It's a nice film, but for my family, it doesn't have high rewatch value.
