Interesting and surprising submitted by 21621032124198 on October 2, 2022, 9:43pm This was a very interesting story about the birth of plastic surgery, especially facial reconstruction. The author is bursting with information, but she weaves the story together well. I wish there were more illustrations detailing the reconstruction process, though. I read this book right after reading "All Quiet On the Western Front," and found this juxtaposition to be perfect.
Fitzharris's other book, "The Butchering Art," was also excellent.
