Women's professional distance running history during past 50 years submitted by Drew Woodrich on February 13, 2024, 1:42pm An incredible resource. Short profiles of dozens of female athletes (distances 880 yards through marathon) who race, or competed, at world-class level.
Molly Huddle is a Notre Dame University athletic alum (a few years younger than trailblazer Ryan Shay from Traverse City region; he was a member of TEAM USA competing in the IAAF World Cross Country Championships) sponsored by Saucony.
Sara Slattery and her husband went to the 2008 USA Track & Field Olympic Trials but neither made the Beijing Games roster; Sara made a public appearance in Eugene with Amy Rudolph and Coach Brad Hudson during July 2008.
