A Bedtime Book for the Rest of Us submitted by Meginator on August 22, 2022, 10:15am This book is absolutely hilarious, with excellent creative chemistry between the author and illustrator that completely sells the book’s premise. The book might have the opposite effect of the promise in its title, but its ironic wit provides ample laugh-out-loud moments and will thrill readers of any age who have a robust sense of humor; I literally laughed out loud several times, especially during one particular page-turning plot twist that had someone come in from the other room to make sure I was okay (never better). After putting this down, I immediately recommended it to every parent I know and even a few of my childless friends- it’s a must-have for anyone who enjoys the kind of laughs that come from subverted expectations.
