COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Good submitted by DL on June 25, 2022, 5:03pm A good look at the group ABBA and the ups and downs of the group.

Celebrating ABBA's Success submitted by Meginator on July 4, 2022, 8:48am This program plays out more like an extended celebration than a proper documentary, but ABBA fans will appreciate the opportunity to learn a little more about the group’s history and current trajectory (although, oddly, the recent reunion and “Voyage” don’t warrant a mention). Narratively, the documentary skips around a bit, beginning with “Waterloo” and later going back to tell the story of the band’s formation, success, and dissolution; this makes the chronological storyline (such as it is, as presented) a bit difficult to follow, particularly for viewers who aren’t already acquainted with the history. However, interviews with some of the band’s collaborators dive more deeply into the audio production that created ABBA’s unique sound, and the documentary includes ample footage of performances that showcases some truly glorious, see-it-to-believe-it costuming. This is probably best for incredibly casual fans, the idly curious, or hardcore completists, but if nothing else the soundtrack is unquestionably fantastic.
