Music with Real Heart submitted by Meginator on August 20, 2022, 5:55pm This album plays out like a series of jam sessions, which makes the music come alive in ways that a lot of studio recordings don’t. The producers include a lot of the musicians’ conversations at the end of the tracks, giving the listener some insight into the creative process and adding a sense of liveliness between songs. The music itself is intricate bluegrass played by a rotating cast of skilled musicians, allowing for the instrumental combinations to change as appropriate for each composition. Fleck’s banjo lies at the heart of it all throughout, and it’s an incredible display of collaboration and talent within the contemporary bluegrass community.
