While Adam Driver and Al pacino were great as usual, i didnt think much of Lady Gaga's overacting.

Jared Leto hints at the comedic potential here, Lady Gage hints at the possibility of thrills - but for some reason, Scott chose to make a very long movie that is neither funny nor thrilling. As bad as Oliver Stone's W movie.

entertaining but.... submitted by zaraz on August 2, 2022, 5:13pm genuinely entertaining but I think it falters in many aspects. It felt a bit campy when it wasn't supposed to be, in my opinion. However there are lots of great moments and performances; Adam Driver's performance is the best part of the movie.

Good Acting, Bad Script submitted by Meginator on August 22, 2022, 9:51am This uneven film has an uneven script that is occasionally rescued (but only barely) by outstanding acting across the main cast and especially by Lady Gaga in the lead role. The story is an interesting one at its core, but the screenplay badly mismanages the timeline and kills much of the narrative flow while failing to account for significant and seemingly sudden shifts in the main characters’ personalities. The film has the seeds of an excellent character study or domestic thriller within it, but ultimately a plot full of intrigue and real-life drama ends up falling a bit flat. With a lengthy runtime that is significantly out of proportion with the emotional payoff it offers, the film is entertaining for a while but it never builds sufficient plot momentum and ultimately falls flat in its final (and theoretically most interesting) act.
