The kids are insufferable, the movie too cute by half, no reason to watch this movie except for the cameos by the original cast, which are too short and too winking and add very little to the story. Please, Hollywood, stop re-making and re-booting and start making and booting instead. We are losing out on a generation of original work by focusing on re-making old hits. Also, where is Slimer?? This movie needs Slimer.

Nostalgic for Boomers/GenXers, but Fun For Younger Generations submitted by KPNF on June 28, 2023, 6:20am I didn’t think I would enjoy this reboot, but I did. As a fan of the original as a tween in the 80’s, I enjoyed the cameos and references to the original. Tweens will enjoy it, but it won’t spark the excitement and fan love that the original did, because the ideas and special effects aren’t new like they were in the ‘80s. It is a solid family movie night choice.
