Sweet story for all kids submitted by alotofaxolotl on November 14, 2023, 9:13am It's not obvious at first but the setting is in Indonesia. The main character is an athlete who was injured in an unnamed accident. My 8 year old can't bear to return this book to the school library because she loves the relationship between the mysterious elephant and Jordan, the main character. The illustrations are appealing as is the friendship between the child and the elephant. There are themes of perseverance (Jordan learns a new sport) and friendship. Altogether a worthwhile read.
