Fun, and light submitted by lballard on June 10, 2022, 5:10pm This book is saved by the Filipino American community. It’s pretty average both in characters and plot, but the descriptions of food and a community that I don’t really know make it interesting. I am hoping to get to try Filipino food sometime, as there aren’t any Restaurants close to Ann Arbor.

A good sequel submitted by mgabbieb on June 10, 2022, 7:41pm I think this is a good followup to Arsenic and Adobo. It is still easy to read. It does explore some heavier topics, but the baking elements keep it bright and fun to read.

Great sequel submitted by Beatlesfan04 on June 20, 2022, 1:34pm I was excited for this sequel and it did not disappoint. It engaged in new details of the main characters and heavier real-life topics than many cozies. Great food descriptions and recipes.

Light Hearted Murder Mystery submitted by khrobinson on July 14, 2023, 10:00pm For a book about a murder, it’s a surprisingly light and fun read. This is the second in a series, but it also stands on its own. One of my favorite parts of the book is the descriptions of all the Filipino foods. After reading, I had to try out halo-halo for myself. Delicious!
