Charley Harper (American, 1922 –2007) Poster for The Conservancy, Naples, Florida, 1983 Coastal creatures converge in this jigsaw puzzle of Charley Harper’s stylish midcentury poster for The Conservancy (now The Conservancy of Southwest Florida) in Naples, Florida. Harper celebrates wildlife in the zone where freshwater and salt water mix, in crisp lines and vivid colors. Seabirds fill the air, and wading birds fish among shallow roots of mangrove trees. A baby sea turtle plays while an endangered manatee pokes its wrinkled gray head up to breathe. With heart and humor, Harper captures one of the last remaining examples of a unique American ecosystem.

Challenging in a different way
submitted by terpsichore17 on July 30, 2022, 11:58pm
Oddly, the hardest thing about this puzzle is how easy it is to fit some pieces in multiple places. False positives can give you a border that's too long on one side and not meeting on the other, or make you swear that a piece goes right underneath where it should.
In fairness, I was working without comparing pieces to the box for once, so perhaps this difficulty disappears when such comparisons are made.
Lots of Textures submitted by Meginator on August 22, 2022, 9:38am This puzzle features Charley Harper’s distinctive visual style, although the image is much more cluttered and confusing in the jigsaw puzzle format than it appears on the box. The puzzle itself is characteristically fun to put together, with the different birds having distinct colors and textures that allow different blocks of pieces to come together nicely. This was pretty quick for me, and I think it would be a great puzzle for intermediate solvers, although I was a little disappointed about how the solved puzzle looked in the end.
Charley Harper puzzles are the best! submitted by gambini on February 16, 2024, 12:13pm Always little hidden critters that are not obvious at first glance and so fun to discover. This 500 piece puzzle is a fun puzzle for all ages.. bigger pieces make it easier to work. As another reviewer says, there are many pieces that fit in multiple places, causing a little extra difficulty in the end. As I write this in February of 2024 the puzzle is missing one border piece. Have fun!
