"Embracing a sweet escape from her usual routine at The Cookie Jar, Hannah gets asked for her help in baking pastries at the local inn for a flashy fishing competition with big prizes and even bigger names. But the fun stops when she spots a runaway boaton the water and, on board, the lifeless body of the event's renowned celebrity spokesperson...Famed TV show host Sonny Bowman wasn't humble about his ability to reel in winning catches, and no one knew that better than his tragically overworked sidekick,Joey. Did Joey finally take bloody revenge on his pompous boss-or was Sonny killed by a jealous contestant? With goodies to bake and a mess of fresh challenges mixed into her personal life, it's either sink or swim as Hannah joins forces with her sister,Andrea, to catch a clever culprit before another unsuspecting victim goes belly up..."-- Provided by publisher.

Ghost Writer submitted by Beatlesfan04 on July 22, 2022, 11:34pm The past few books, it really seems like JoAnne has a ghost writer. Hannah used to be so strong, and I feel her character has not been living up to some of the first 10+ books. Her personality shifted since the wedding book came out. The writing is stilted and formulaic at this point. The love triangle has gone on for so long. Hannah acts twice her age, Andrea is always treated more like a child than an adult, and Dolores always drinks her favorite champagne in the penthouse. Even the recipes have been getting easier and sillier. Still a few good ones, but nothing like the ones in the past. I used to copy down and make those recipes all the time. I'm sad to say I think this series should come to an end soon. I'll keep reading- I even named my car after Hannah- but they're not like they used to be.

Lacking submitted by Gr33nl3af on August 5, 2023, 12:55pm This book left me with serious concern for the future of this series. But perhaps after 29-30+ books, a series should be looking to end. We are never really told how the murder was carried out, just who did it? And what's with Mike? I will read the next book out of curiosity/loyalty, but I fear the end is near.

Chatting with old friends submitted by kathscot on August 12, 2023, 9:15am Flukeā€™s style is dialog driven, and there is a funny chapter where Dolores has shopped for the grandkitties. Lots of coffee and calories, a likely killer: a comfort food type of read.
