A Genre Mish-Mash submitted by Meginator on July 12, 2023, 10:32am This album sits in between a surprising range of musical influences, with a decidedly punk sensibility in the lyrics set to a power-pop musical style that relies heavily on the synths that would come to define 80s pop music yet is still grounded in traditional rock instrumentation. The blend feels organic and works really well, foreshadowing future developments without looking too far beyond itself. This feels both familiar and different, and I really enjoyed it.
