Congressman Jamie Raskin tells the story of the forty-five days at the start of 2021 that permanently changed his life - and his family's - as he confronted the painful loss of his son to suicide, lived through the violent insurrection in our nation's Capitol, and led the impeachment effort to hold President Trump accountable for inciting the political violence. A moving story of a father coping with his pain and a revealing examination of holding President Trump accountable for the violence he fomented. Print run 75,000.

Comprehensive and heartbreaking submitted by kkjammers on February 16, 2022, 10:21am Representative Raskin's account of 2021 is a detailed rendering of the turmoil our nation faced post January 6 insurrection, combined with the trauma he and his family personally experienced following the suicide of his only son, Tommy. I was curious to learn more about the details of this monumental time. Raskin is masterful in weaving his emotional response to this double and ongoing trauma with the facts of the second trump impeachment trial, in which he was the lead impeachment manager. I was compelled to read and finish this book, and also saddened by the loss of Raskin's remarkable son.

Extremely well-written submitted by lalichter on June 13, 2022, 3:08pm I found this to be very compelling. It’s not often that I read this type of book and have difficulty putting it down. Having experienced a death by suicide in my own family, at first I was reluctant to read this book, but it turned out not to be difficult for me at all. Mr. Raskin, aside from being an eloquent speaker and outstanding lawyer and congressman, is also a masterful writer. I highly recommend this book.
