If love is in the form of a circle, what lines would you cross to be with your soulmate? In this gripping, near-future love story directed by Oscar winner John Ridley, Nick and Janine live in marital bliss, until Janine's ex-husband warps time to try to tear them apart using Nick's college girlfriend. As Nick's memories and reality disappear, he must decide what he's willing to sacrifice in order to hold onto, or let go of, everything he loves. Can love endure in a future where time is fluid, and all of life may be just an illusion?
Blu-ray, wide screen; 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio; requires Blu-ray player.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

A Pretty Good Use of Time Travel submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 6:46pm This is a slow-paced, subtle science fiction film that uses the familiar guise of time travel to ask major philosophical questions about the nature of memory, history, and love. It is good to know going in, however, that only the male characters seem to have actual agency, and in a certain sense the entire plot revolves around men competing for their love; the women themselves seem to have little to do with it even as their fates are also very much at stake. Although it drags in places, the film uses a parallel narrative structure of sorts to examine different versions of the main character’s history predicated on alterations to the primary timeline. However, while the journey at first appears to be about restoring the one true timeline, the ultimate conclusion isn’t so straightforward or simple; the plot reaches a satisfying resolution, but the film itself refuses to pass judgement on the means to this end. This makes for a very welcome change of pace from most modern films, and indeed from the storyline implied in the blurb on the back cover. This is a ponderous film that can be slow at times but is, I think, worth the time commitment, particularly if you enjoy thinking about the moral implications of time travel.
