A Thorough History of the Humble Christmas Tree submitted by Meginator on August 1, 2022, 3:49pm This picture book offers a surprisingly thorough history of Christmas trees, from their origins in Medieval Europe to modern decorating traditions. The structure is a little odd, with older family members somehow possessing all of this knowledge and imparting it to a pair of siblings, but the information is presented clearly and the dual storyline of the family preparing their contemporary tree while learning about the tradition’s history makes the book accessible to readers of all ages. I found this to be a nice introduction to the topic, and I learned quite a bit from it.
