It's an incendiary moment for St Oswald's school. For the first time in its history, a headmistress is in power, the gates opening to girls. Rebecca Buckfast has spilled blood to reach this position. As the new regime takes on the old guard, the ground shifts. And with it, the remains of a body are discovered. Rebecca will bury the past so deep it will evade even her own memory, just like she has done before.

I didn't know this was part of a 3 book series submitted by amym on June 26, 2023, 3:24pm I was totally baffled about what was going on in this book. It was referring to schools and neighborhoods as though I should know what the author was talking about. Given that this is a book where things are slowly revealed, it made sense to me that it was written that way. Now that I know, I am much less frustrated with the author.
