"A Tom Doherty Associates book."
"A Man Called Ove meets The Good Place in Under the Whispering Door, a delightful queer love story from TJ Klune, author of the New York Times and USA Today bestseller The House in the Cerulean Sea. When a reaper comes to collect Wallace from his own funeral, Wallace begins to suspect he might be dead. And when Hugo, the owner of a peculiar tea shop, promises to help him cross over, Wallace decides he's definitely dead. But even in death he's not ready to abandon the life he barely lived, so when Wallace is given one week to cross over, he sets about living a lifetime in seven days. Hilarious, haunting, and kind, Under the Whispering Door is an uplifting story about a life spent at the office and a death spent building a home"-- Provided by publisher.

Cathartic submitted by Princess Cimorene on June 17, 2022, 8:17am This is definitely a feel-good book (but be prepared to feel a lot of things). Fantastic characters and growth, lots of warmth, and a good dose of humor.

An all-time favorite of mine! submitted by gtaylor on July 12, 2022, 4:42pm I loved TJ Kline's "House on the Cerulean Sea," and somehow this book was even better! If you're looking for a warm hug in a book that will make you smile, think, and probably cry, this is the book for you.

Heartwarming submitted by pamhockey25 on July 18, 2022, 11:17am This book follows Wallace Price, who starts out by dying suddenly. Wallace wasn't a pleasant man when he was alive (change the last letter of his last name to a "k" and you get the picture), and this book describes his journey in the afterlife. An enjoyable read.

Must Read! submitted by Hjfinnie on July 28, 2022, 11:28pm This book makes the reader think of life and second chances. It’s a beautiful painting of the unknown afterlife.

A Must Read! submitted by mickplu on June 18, 2023, 12:19am This is a wonderful book and presents a unique and comforting view of death. It is not a sad story but rather heartwarming.

One of the best books I've read in years submitted by schweiml on June 23, 2023, 10:45am Absolutely fell in love with this book and the characters. The book is at times funny and heartbreaking. A beautiful tale of exploring what it means to live (and die). TJ Klune does a fantastic job of creating characters that feel real and nuanced, with story arcs that show how people can (and do) change when they open their eyes to the world around them. I've recommended this book to pretty much everyone I know!

An exploration of death and life submitted by sara.samuel on July 24, 2023, 7:44am Because I liked Klune's book The House by the Cerulean Sea so much, I thought I'd try one of his other books. Overall this was a fun read. An exploration of death and life, with unique characters.

interesting concept, enjoyable execution submitted by apknapp on August 10, 2023, 11:09am Tender and warm, as are all of TJ Klune's books. Interesting concept and some weightier themes, but handled gently.
