The Story of Troy submitted by Blinky on March 8, 2022, 11:02am I have read several versions of the Iliad, but this one is the most accessible. It is written in clear language and does not attempt to strictly follow the tale that Homer told. Instead it adds in all of the background and stories that surround the legend and organizes them into a complete telling of the founding, rise and fall of the mythic city of Troy. Stephen Fry often adds his own, often humorous, character dialogue and footnotes almost every page with additional information for the reader. I learned a lot about the story and enjoyed every minute reading it.
