Hilariously Literal submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 6:15pm This hilarious picture book delivers on the premise presented on its cover, and then goes on to explore some of the unexpected, yet entirely plausible, ramifications of designing a delightful robot companion. The contrast between the text, framed as a straightforward and rather droll instruction manual, and the illustrations, which tell the story of a girl who follows the manual quite literally, provides some surprisingly sophisticated humor. This book is an excellent choice for adult readers who appreciate irony and the type of humor that comes from following a thread through to its logical conclusion. This was a delightful surprise and I absolutely adored it.
