Readers hear from a house that is cursed with layers of thick dust and peeling wallpaper, that cannot help but make scary sounds when the wind howls and bare tree branches rustle its creaking walls, that simply wants to become not a haunted *house* but a haunted *home*. With kawaii-inspired illustrations and a lot of fantastic opportunities to add sound effects when reading aloud, this book is a charming take on a common trope that has a lovely little moral about loving yourself, flaws and all, and finding the people who will appreciate you for who you are.
