Great for Such a Broad Geographic Area submitted by Meginator on June 21, 2023, 11:30pm Although its practical utility is naturally limited by its broad scope, this travel guide is about as good as it gets when covering such a broad geographic area. Waxing a little on the poetic (rather than the practical) side in their descriptions of specific towns and cities, the authors do make readers want to visit the region, although it is often difficult to distinguish one destination from any other from these blurbs alone. Descriptions of specific activities, restaurants, and hotels are short and simple, but still useful as they generally manage to pull out important details; this makes the book excellent for initial planning and quick browsing, even if the options for each locale are obviously quite limited. Travelers interested in outdoor activities beyond biking should look elsewhere for more detailed information, as the book is targeted more toward families and more traditional tourists than hikers, but most potential visitors will get something useful out of this guide even if it is only really suited to be a broad overview and a starting point.
