Everyone likes Humaira 'Hani' Khan, she's easy going and one of the most popular girls at school. But when she comes out to her friends as bisexual, they invalidate her identity, saying she can't be bi if she's only dated guys. Panicked, Hani blurts out that she's in a relationship, with a girl her friends absolutely hate. Shita 'Ishu' Dey. Ishu is the complete opposite of Hani. She's an academic overachiever who hopes that becoming head girl will set her on the right track for college. But Ishita agrees to help Hani, if Hani will help her become more popular so that she stands a chance of being elected head girl.

Loved it! submitted by Xris on November 24, 2021, 5:27pm After I saw Lucy talking about it in one of her videos, I got it and read it. I love when I learn more about a culture when reading a book. Plus it has a queer couple at the center of it. It was hard to read the parts when Hani was being ill treated by her best friend. But I'm glad Ishu was there for her. I'm going to recommend it to my GSA kids. :)
Sweet YA romance submitted by mintaroni on July 10, 2023, 9:18am Sweet YA queer romance read that's a really easy, enjoyable and fast read. Overall it's a bit underdeveloped and the supporting characters are all very flat, but if you want to see good discussions of biphobia, read about cute sapphic teens in a tropey romance and learn about Bengali and Muslim culture then this is a good book for you!
