A Different Take on Electronic Music submitted by Meginator on July 11, 2023, 11:00pm This compilation features electronic music from 1980s Japan, with the tracks showing a different side to the decade’s technological advances. Many of these tracks experiment with minimalism, but others employ a range of unexpected rhythms and energy; despite the differences between tracks, all of them feel somewhat different from what was being produced in North America and Western Europe at the same time. The album offers an interesting alternate perspective on electronic music that is worth seeking out.
