Things we lost to the water submitted by stht on July 25, 2022, 2:40pm This book moves a little slowly at the beginning but picks up towards the middle/end. I enjoyed learning about the Vietnamese American community in New Orleans. Beyond that, the book has compelling characters and provides a powerful exploration of inherited trauma, assimilation, sexuality, and immigrant/refugee family relationships.
