All-Time Jazz Greats submitted by Meginator on August 1, 2022, 3:40pm This album may put a spotlight on Miles Davis, showcasing his early recordings, but these sessions feature some of the greatest musicians and lineups in the history of jazz and the album is a must-have for anyone who is interested in the genre’s history. With the benefit of hindsight, the roots of cool jazz are evident in these tracks, though Davis would be the first to synthesize these elements into something new. This collection features an extraordinary level of talent and is worth listening to several times over to catch every little piece of brilliance, both from Miles and from his collaborators.
