sonali's parents have been fighting for years. she's learned just to push down her feelings, not let them show (prepare for frozen puns)
and so when they announce they've decided to take a break (not divorce), sonali's feelings go dksjfawieojowiejaskjaklnggakjsf
AND THEN SHE WAKES UP AND APPARENTLY HER WHOLE LIFE IS A FREAKING BOLLYWOOD MOVIE.
and that includes crazy hairdos, bursting into song in the middle of class, and life size posters of yourself cutely eating ice cream. everyone thinks it's normal.
and the thing about this- is that when you burst into song- you sing about your emotions. sonali hasn't showed her emotions for ages- (yeah, she doesn't even laugh. it's just a huffy breath.)
she must learn how to LET IT GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
(oh and, fyi there are a lot more subplots.) ps. i'm glad there are a lot more south asian mc/books now, since there were barely any)
i'm rating it a 4/5, since it is a little forgettable, but still worth a read.
