Stunning Illustrations submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 8:15am This book’s illustrations, particularly Sophie Diao’s representation of water, are incredibly beautiful; I’d happily order a print of one of them and put it right on my wall, and the pull-out page is stunning. With pictures this outstanding, any story would work, but Bonnie Tsui does an excellent job of distilling Sarah Gerhardt’s accomplishments into a straightforward story that celebrates her remarkable achievements while making readers feel that they, too, can meet the goals they set for themselves. Blending the best elements of biography and gentle encouragement and pairing them with truly astounding illustrations, this book is among the best picture book biographies I’ve ever encountered.
