World War II spy story submitted by vickik on July 14, 2022, 11:23pm This is the first in a series about Electra "Ellie" McDonnell, a safecracker who gets caught in the act and recruited as a spy in World War II. Major Ramsey wants her to break into a safe in the home of a British Nazi supporter, to keep certain documents from falling into the hands of the Germans. Things go wrong, though, and she finds the dead body of the German spy. The papers have been stolen. Ellie and the major must work together to find a traitor, and keep the British war plans safe. This is a delightful mystery. I loved the dynamics between Ellie and the major.
