Poor Regina submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 9:45am This book derives much of its humor from the conceit in its title: as the illustrations and story show quite clearly, Regina is, in fact, quite a small dinosaur. The book follows Regina as she decides that she is ready to take on her first hunt, with predictably mixed results and a good number of laughs and visual gags along the way. The book’s moral gets a little murky at the end, as it seems to encourage readers to take on tasks they aren’t really prepared for against the advice of older and wiser counsel, but the point that Regina was not really ready for all that she encountered does ultimately carry through. Ultimately, this book is a keeper for its amazing illustrations, which add a lot of depth of character and a few laugh-ou-loud moments to what is otherwise a fairly straightforward and familiar type of story.
