"From the outside, everyone might think Fern and Rose are as close as twin sisters can be: Rose is the responsible one, with a home and a husband and a fierce desire to become a mother. Fern is the quirky one, the free spirit, the librarian who avoids social interaction and whom the world might just describe as truly odd. But the sisters are devoted to one another and Rose has always been Fern's protector from the time they were small. Fern needed protecting because their mother was a true sociopath who hid her true nature from the world, and only Rose could see it. Fern always saw the good in everyone. Years ago, Fern did something very, very bad. And Rose has never told a soul. When Fern decides to help her sister achieve her heart's desire of having a baby, Rose realizes with growing horror that Fern might make choices that can only have a terrible outcome. What Rose doesn't realize is that Fern is growing more and more aware of the secrets Rose, herself, is keeping. And that their mother might have the last word after all."-- Provided by publisher.

scary submitted by Ilovetoeat on July 11, 2022, 12:13pm good but scary
Nice twist submitted by Bethybeth07 on July 20, 2022, 3:56pm Well written, a tad predictable
It's been done, but it was still awesome submitted by michl8705 on August 5, 2022, 8:31pm The formula this book follows has definitely been done and has been popular lately, but that being said, I adored the characters and thought this was well-done and well-paced.
Loved it! submitted by jcottey on August 10, 2022, 8:56pm The characters were well developed, and the storyline kept me interested all the way to the end. The chapters flip between the perspectives of sisters, Rose and Fern, with remembrances from the past added to learning about their current lives. I didn't know the genre the book was in, so there were many surprises for me!
Intriguing and good read submitted by Brownize on August 22, 2022, 9:47pm Really enjoyed the story. Kept me interested in the end. I really liked the development of Fern's character and her autism is described with respect and understanding. The twin part is a bit predictable, but good read nonetheless.
My First Hepworth -- But Not My Last submitted by Ann H Kim on June 30, 2023, 11:02am I love audiobooks, and Hepworth's novels kept showing up in my searches. This was my first of her books, and I enjoyed it so much that I'm now going through her entire backlist. Twisty and funny, The Good Sister had me glued to my earphones.
