COMMUNITY REVIEWS

the center of the universe submitted by JAV on August 16, 2021, 4:23pm Excellent collection of recordings from the legendary first Ann Arbor Blues and Jazz Festival in 1972.

Outstanding Lineup & Local History submitted by Meginator on July 4, 2022, 9:03am This album is a who’s who of the jazz world in the early 1970s, and it’s amazing to think that all of these amazing musicians descended upon Ann Arbor at the same time. The music itself is exquisite, although I’m not a fan of the more chaotic jazz style that appears on a few (but not too many) tracks; the excellent blues and more traditional jazz more than make up the difference, anyway. This is a must for anyone who loves blues, jazz, and good music.

Memorable Collection submitted by kencza on July 13, 2023, 11:48pm So many great artists, collaborations, and performances in this historic recording. Freddie King's Goin' Down, Koko Taylor's classic rendition of Wang Dang Doodle, and the Night Tripper's Walk on Gilded Splinters, and so many more.
Truly Legendary!
