i finished it in one sitting, i swear i could not put it down. it's written in poems, so not a super heavy read.
but.... it WILL stick with you. for the reST of your (sad pathetic) life...
ok, i'm just kidding (sorry, that was rude.) but i swear, starfish was/is amazing. 
some info; ellie, our mc, has always been bullied for her weight/appearance. at school and at home. (not her dad, but her mom. her dad is great.) ellie's been dealing with this her whole life. she's learned how to get used to it; how to not be noticed; basically, she just deals with it. and doesn't do anything. but soon, she learns.... (idk man)
diverse and realistic (characters too), starfish is (insert some random quote here) (oh, and, the metaphors are fantastic.)ok, i'm actually gonna insert a great praise/quote for starfish;

So good! submitted by Xris on January 14, 2022, 8:35am I can't believe her mom treated her the way that she did. But I'm glad Ellie had her friends and father to help her. A must read for kids who are bullied, to know that there's a way to stand up for yourself.
