Simple and beautiful submitted by Xris on June 17, 2022, 11:29pm I can relate to being embarrassed by something your parents do. My mom would spot asparagus by the side of the road, growing wild, while driving home from a visit to my grandparents. They'd stop and pick all they could find. I don't have the immigrant part of the story that Andrea tells, though. Nice that she was able to come around and be proud of her culture and write this wonderful book, with beautiful illustrations.
