Little free library submitted by willow on January 15, 2022, 7:58pm In this cutely illustrated book, Jake discovers a love for books and libraries through the help of a gender non-binary librarian. While the enthusiasm for books and libraries is admirable, the ending shows the librarian, whose naming preference is “Librarian” as a title as is used for doctors, deliberately withdrawing the book that Jake has enjoyed so much. This is a deceptive and confusing message, and may disappoint some young readers who may assume library staff will give them their favorite books from the collection as a present.

Love! submitted by Xris on June 14, 2023, 2:28am I wish some of the kids I work with now in middle school had seen this book in elementary school, so they'd know that it's okay to take your time reading. Also love the little library idea and kids working with their hands! (With a non-binary librarian)
