Surprisingly Edgy K-Pop submitted by Meginator on July 11, 2021, 12:39pm This is another solid K-Pop album that mixes 00s-inspired boy band harmonies with modern pop/r&b beats and rap, all presented in a heavily electronic and surprisingly aggressive musical package. The lyrics are almost entirely in Korean (with some English flourishes here and there), but the songs hold up well on their musical merits alone even if you don’t understand the language. I wouldn’t start here if you’re new to the genre, but listeners branching out from the most popular artists will appreciate this as a change of pace and as proof that K-Pop is a deep and evolving scene that embraces innovation.
