"The first book in a highly original and clever new crime series featuring Queen Elizabeth II as an amateur detective who solves crimes in secret and behind the scenes, in between her royal duties"-- Provided by publisher.
Spring, 2016. Queen Elizabeth is at Windsor Castle in advance of her 90th birthday celebrations. When a guest is found dead in one of the Castle bedrooms, the scene suggests the young Russian pianist strangled himself, but a badly tied knot leads MI5 to suspect foul play was involved. Unhappy at the handling of the case and concerned for her staff's morale, the monarch-- with help from her Assistant Private Secretary, Rozie Oshodi, a British Nigerian and recent officer in the Royal Horse Artillery-- begins making inquiries to bring a murderer to justice. -- adapted from jacket

Clever, fun, and well written submitted by mowjac on July 19, 2021, 8:27am This isn't the first mystery with a queen of England investigating (via surrogate) and solving a crime, but it is surely one of the best. Entertaining and light (as mysteries go) , well written. If you are missing The Crown, I've got the perfect book for you!
Queen submitted by Carolyn J Petersen on July 28, 2021, 11:49am I can imagine Elizabeth as a mystery solver. Excellent read, can’t wait for the next one.
