Entertaining Empty Calories submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2022, 6:26pm This film is a lot of fun on a surface level, but it ultimately falls flat when it attempts to reach for further depths within its characters. The acting is quite good for a (slightly raunchy) comedy in this genre, and while the script does well with its many jokes neither the actors nor the writers give the characters much emotional depth. This leaves them with little to no room for meaningful growth, and the movie’s final act features conversations happening almost out of nowhere with an ending that feels strangely abrupt. I did enjoy this film, but in the end it feels like empty cinematic calories where it tries to do something more.
