No thrills, much introspection submitted by mowjac on April 3, 2021, 3:33pm I've thought a lot about this book since I finished it. It's a dense, folded tale with layers that keep revealing themselves after you finish. Questions about nature and nurture and which creates character, about patriarchy and the roles for women and men in that system. I recommend reading the acknowledgments at the end, as I think they give the key to understanding the story. Its more an intellectual thought experiment along the lines of "Left hand of Darkness" and "Handmaid's tale" rather than "Big little lies", and the ending is disturbing rather than settling.
