Sequel to: A court of wings and ruin.
"Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it. The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable, and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other. Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts. Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance-and healing-in each other's arms."--provided by publisher.

I like it! submitted by ShanleyBelle on July 19, 2021, 5:43pm I love ACOTAR and Feyre, and this book is about Nesta... you know, the eldest sister that sent her youngest sibling out to hunt for the family, and didn't realize her sister never learned to read. It's worth the read, certainly, and it's great to see all of the characters. Nesta grows a lot, and while it's a tough read, it's a good one. Get through it and you'll be glad you did! She isn't a saint, but Nesta deserves happiness too.

Nice change in the series submitted by Princess Cimorene on July 20, 2021, 10:44pm This book was not what I expected after reading the first three books; I was pleasantly surprised. There is a lot more healing, growth, and sex in this one and less large-scale drama. I found it quite engaging and refreshing, although I think it could have been shorter.

Not What I Expected submitted by rishikabhutani on October 17, 2021, 12:29pm It's been a while since I read A Court of Wings and Ruin, so remembering the underlying plot of the series was difficult. Once the purpose of the novel was established, it was quite stagnant. Chapter after chapter was more of the same thing until the last 20 chapters, which was a really shocking plot twist that I didn't see coming at all. However, there are some really special and emotionally powerful moments in the book as well. If you've read the rest of the books in the series, I would definitely recommend reading this one as well.

More of the same. submitted by tisaallen on June 20, 2022, 1:39am This is the 4th book in the series and is told from Nesta’s point of view instead of Feyre’s.

Nesta stole the power of death when she was forcibly turned Fae in book 3, she’s haunted by things she’s done and had done to her, and her self-destructive behavior has driven everyone away. None of those experiences has made her into a more palatable person. After a particularly horrible thing she does, Rhys and Feyre boot her to the Illyrian camps, where her journey to enlightenment begins.

This is a typical Sarah J Maas book. I don’t know why I keep reading them, they’re essentially the same plot with different characters names.

Incredible Book submitted by Riawhitebell on June 9, 2023, 11:37am This is an amazing book, possibly the best of the series. It addresses a young woman healing from her trauma and finding happiness in her life.

Different but the same submitted by asangtani on July 5, 2023, 11:13pm If you read the first three books of the series thinking to yourself I love the storyline but I wish there was more spice, then this is the book for you. Unlike the first three, this follows Nesta after the events of the story of the others.
