With elegantly simple gameplay, Ticket to Ride can be learned in under 15 minutes. Players collect cards of various types of train cars they then use to claim railway routes in North America. The longer the routes, the more points they earn. Additional points come to those who fulfill Destination Tickets – goal cards that connect distant cities; and to the player who builds the longest continuous route.

New classic submitted by mowjac on January 15, 2021, 10:37am We own this game and all its many expansions, and its one that we return to again and again. I've taught lots of not-gamers this game and they have all enjoyed it. Easy to understand with lots of dynamic play depending on other players play style, very enjoyable and lots of fun.

Fun but can get long submitted by alotofaxolotl on June 10, 2022, 5:17pm This is a fun strategic game that helps players learn geography. However, it can be a long session so if you're short on time, this is not it. My 10 year old can handle it; the 7 year old participates but it's a bit much. I am glad that the library has this game because the price has really gone up over the years. Unless you get it on sale, you can spend as much as $40 for it!

Building train routes is fun and there's some good strategy and thinking involved. The map and components are engaging and welcoming, and the rules can be picked up quickly.
