WARNING! WARNING! The central computer has failed and the robots can't reach their destination on their own! In Ricochet Robots, players race to find a suitable route for a robot to take across the board toward a target chip. Whoever can guide the robot in the fewest number of moves claims the chip. But getting a robot to its destination isn’t so simple. Robots don’t have brakes, so once they’re put into motion, they move straight and cannot stop or change direction until they hit an obstacle. Optimize your moves as you send robots careening off walls, the edges of the board and even each other as you look for a solution. Whoever can claim the most target chips wins the game!

Lots of thinking submitted by russelan on June 21, 2022, 9:58pm This is simple to understand but complicated to do well. There is a lot of thinking involved. Very fun!

Complex rules, but fun to play with submitted by Diananana on July 7, 2022, 12:12pm We found the rules of play daunting, but had a lot of fun cooperatively finding the shortest paths to the targets. It exercises logic and planning skills.

Fun game submitted by majean on July 27, 2022, 7:39pm It's not exactly fast-paced, but it is kind of addictive.

A Bit of a Puzzle! submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 9:42pm This is more of a competitive spatial reasoning puzzle than a game, per sé, but it has a nice cascading effect that, along with a huge number of possible starting positions, ensures that every game will be unique. The puzzle’s format has a bit of a learning curve, with players attempting to find the lowest possible number of moves required to move a piece to a designated spot on the board. While most solutions are possible in 10 moves or under (per the instructions, and also my impression from playing), they can become quite complex and can involve all of the pieces on the board, which then start the next round from their ending positions. We played a few two-player rounds of this and ended up taking a more collaborative approach toward the end, and anyone who enjoys this type of puzzle should appreciate this game whether or not you adopt its competitive elements.

Fun puzzle submitted by bfields on August 27, 2023, 9:53am You can ignore the time limits and competitive aspect and just play it as a cooperative puzzle. It could be fun either way, but that's what worked better for us.

It's quick to set up and you can play as many or as few rounds as you want. It can be fun to compare different solutions.
