When Professor Bresson, touted to be this century's most established archaeologist passes away, he leaves behind the Bresson Diary, rumored to hold clues to the treasures of a lost civilization. When elusive Lupin III, grandson of the famous French thief, learns of this, he decides to snatch the sought-after diary to claim the lost treasures for himself and to redeem his grandfather's name, who allegedly was not able to solve the Bresson diary.

Entertaining Modern Interpretation submitted by akulcsar on July 8, 2023, 2:26pm Very entertaining story with a unique, 3D animation style. The film was released just a few months after Monkey Punch's passing. According to IMDB, he was able to see a post-production preview, and it sounds like he was happy with how the film looked. I know I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Great animation, bonkers story, in all a fun romp submitted by oriolbt on August 9, 2023, 1:42pm This animation style totally freaking rips, reminding me constantly of Spielberg's Tintin movie, but not hard to look at. Characters' body language is especially good. Story takes a wild and unexpected turn in the third act that seems to venture out of Lupin's genre into Ghibli fabulism, but this is my first Lupin venture so that may well be par for the course. Politics start to get messy around the halfway point but they wrap things up tidily and satisfactorily.
