Hungry Wolf disguises himself as a sheep and nobody suspects a thing! (Or do they?) Wolf dreams of tasty sheep--sheep sandwiches, sheep sushi, sheep tacos! In his clever sheep costume, he infiltrates the friendly neighborhood herd, blending in by helping with chores, reading bedtime stories to the lambs, and working up a sweat in sheep aerobics class. Wolf's sneaky plan works so well, he becomes part of the family. And suddenly, the sheep don't seem quite as tasty. . . . With a charming twist ending and lots of visual fun--including the running theme of Wolf's disguise not being quite as convincing as he thinks--this hilarious take on the wolf-in-sheep's-clothing will have readers howling for more.

Funny, Moving, Educational, This Book Has Everything submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 9:38am I suppose I should feel a little sheepish myself since this ostensibly silly book made me just the slightest bit teary with its conclusion, but Helen Yoon does an excellent job of taking an expected narrative and twisting it ever so slightly to create something that packs a surprising emotional punch. The illustrations are cute and include some nice little details, fleshing out the streamlined text and adding depth to the story. This one is a winner and could become a classic.
Success! submitted by FordAlpha on July 23, 2023, 8:52pm Step 1: Go to the library (scoot scoot scoot). Step 2: Check out this book. Step 3: Read it to the kids. Be the wolfiest sheepish wolf that ever was. Step 3: When they least expect it: turn it back in to the libr--- can't do it. Nope nope nope nope nope. If they're anything like my kids, they'll want to check it out again and again. Helen Yoon's master plan definitely succeeds with her target audience.
