Originally produced in 2018.
A music documentary exploring R&B's evolution throughout the years, and how the soul of music has been lost within the record industry in the wake of today's mainstream hip hop movement. Includes interviews with World Class Wreckin' Cru member and founding member of NWA, Alonzo Williams, long time R&B radio host at 102.3 KJLH, Kevin Nash, music video director Lionel C. Martin, and others.
A music documentary that examines today's industry with focus and emphasis on R&B and how classic R&B from yesteryears has been drowned out by today's HIP HOP and HIP HOP artists through the advance of technology, sampling, and quickly produced beats. They have taken over the record industry and pop culture in general, but how are some artists and producers still trying to keep R&B alive, and can it last in today's age?
DVD; wide screen.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Lost Soul submitted by MaggieCupcakes on March 21, 2021, 11:00pm Excellent analysis of how classic R&B has been replaced by the Hip Hop machine, through the advance of technology, sampling, and synthetically produced beats. Unfortunately, when it's not drowning out the spoken commentary, the non-stop background soundtrack is unnecessarily distracting.
